At 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, the Nobleboro Historical Society will present a talk by Sally Hough, a direct descendant of the original Winslow family that arrived in Maine in the 1780s. Hough will share family stories, artifacts, and relationships of the four sons of Dr. John Winslow and his wife Dorothy Simmons. Her family still occupies the original home of son Deacon Nathaniel Oliver Winslow, built about 1800. Hough’s family has authentically restored the original home on Winslow Hill, also adding an original schoolhouse to one end. In the process, she has discovered many artifacts and stories that she will share with those attending.
