Damariscotta River Grill co-owners and husband-and-wife team Rick Hirsch and Jean Kerrigan have listed both the business and the building, at 151-155 Main St. in Damariscotta, with Swan Agency Sotheby’s International Realty for $2.25 million.
The property, just over a tenth of an acre, includes more than 8,000 square feet of building space, according to the listing.
“Located just off Route 1 in the heart of downtown Damariscotta, this well-maintained historic building sits near the tidal Damariscotta River with excellent visibility on Main Street,” the listing reads. “In addition to two individually leased retail spaces, the property includes the award-winning, year-round Damariscotta River Grill restaurant (and) catering business offered turnkey with strong financials.”
The building is in the Main Street Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
Hirsch and Kerrigan opened the Damariscotta River Grill in late 2003 and have earned numerous awards from the National Restaurant Association and the Maine Restaurant Association. The couple has also run Red Plate Catering and Events for over two decades.
