Newcastle Fire Company Partners with CHIP to Deliver Firewood Submitted article
Newcastle’s Taniscot Engine Company is working with the Community Housing Improvement Program to deliver firewood to households in the town of Newcastle. Firewood recipients are part of CHIP’s annual Home Heating Assistance Program, which provides one cord of firewood, up to 100 gallons of fuel, or assistance paying electric heating bills to people in Central and Eastern Lincoln County.

LA Students Volunteer at Villages of Light Submitted article
Lincoln Academy ninth graders helped brighten the holidays for Thanksgiving and the local Villages of Light celebration. Students donated Thanksgiving baskets to the Ecumenical Food Pantry before Thanksgiving. On Saturday, Nov. 19 they helped set up Christmas trees in the Twin Villages, and on Saturday, November 26 they helped out with the holiday event that took place in the LA Dining Commons.

Deb Boucher, the charity coordinator for the Clamshell Quilters contacted Roxanne Andrews, director of One2One Care, to offer a donation of handquilted placemats for the new “Meals at Home” program. With each new delivery of a home cooked, nutritious meal, the recipient will receive a beautiful, two-sided placemat to keep.
