A transient with a murder conviction is back in custody after his arrest in Damariscotta on Monday, March 19 in connection with recent car thefts.

March 13: A 2004 silver GMC SUV driven by Mark Rines, 53, of Wiscasset, slid off Gardiner Road into a ditch. No injuries were reported.
A former employee of Damariscotta Hardware and Randolph Hardware has admitted to stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from the stores over nearly six years.
