FREE Event 8am – 4pm Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease can be caused by genetic factors and/or from childhood respiratory infections, dust and chemicals, second hand smoke, air pollution, heredity and smoking. Have you had these exposures or been diagnosed with Asthma, COPD, Emphysema or Chronic Bronchitis. If so, we would encourage you to join us at this Free event. This FREE Event will include: Diagnostic Testing including: blood pressure and oxygen saturation checks, lung function (spirometry)testing, Alpha-1 Genetic Screening. Inhaler Use, Function Check and Instruction: Inhaler flow checks evaluate if are you able to generate the correct amount of inhalation flow to ensure the medication is getting into your lungs and not hitting the back of your throat or landing on your tongue. Anyone at any age who has an inhaler should have this function check performed. Each inhaler requires a different amount of inhalation flow and technique. The majority of the population have never been evaluated for their inhalation flow and/or never received formal inhaler teaching and therefore may not be effectively receiving benefit from their inhalers. Aerochambers also known as “spacers” will be given to those who do not have one and are in need based on the medications that they use. Generously provided by Monaghan. Presentations from Professionals and people living with Alpha-1 (the genetic and hereditary form of COPD) and COPD.
