Crews from the Central Maine Power Company have been braving high winds and the danger of falling branches to return power to Lincoln County residents even as a blustery storm chugs through the area.
Over 300 Lincoln County households were without power mid-day Sunday. By 2 p.m. power had been restored to several hundred, with only 110 households waiting for assistance, according to CMP. However, high winds continue in the forecast, with a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service extending into Sunday night. The Advisory warns of sustained northwesterly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph.
Bremen and Bristol have been the areas hardest hit by power outages during this event, according to the CMP.
A Winter Weather Advisory also issued by the NWS warns of snowfall and blowing snow through 7 p.m. Sunday evening. So far, snowfall appears to have been relatively light for this storm, with any fallen snow quickly re-arranged into drifts by blowing wind.
The Lincoln County News will continue to follow the progress of this event and post and additional information here as soon as it is obtained.
