According to Major Ken Mason of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, LCSO Dep. Justin Drake “is just fine” following a severe accident involving Drake’s cruiser Dec. 12 on Rt. 1 in Nobleboro.
According to Lincoln County Sheriff Todd Brackett, Drake was responding to a disabled motorist near the head of Pemaquid Pond in Nobleboro. Drake, using his cruiser’s emergency lights, performed a U-turn on Rt. 1 to proceed to the scene, when a vehicle attempted to pass the cruiser and “T-boned” it on the driver door side.
Mason confirmed that Maine State Trooper Jason Madore is the investigating officer. Maine State Police Lt. Dave Tripp said he was not yet aware of the accident and is awaiting Madore’s report.
“[Madore] has three days to get his crash report in,” said Tripp.
“I assure you, Drake is fine,” Mason said, “in fact, everybody is fine.”
Mason said the accident report will be made available to The Lincoln County News.
