The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to identify a subject who cashed a check for $2700 at the First Bank in Damariscotta on Sept. 22.
He was given the check by a 99-year-old resident of South Bristol for “tree work”. The victim stated three young men showed up and stated they were doing work for the State near by and asked if any tree work needed to be done on the victim’s property.
They cut two branches and gave a bill for cutting six trees and other work. A caregiver contacted the Sheriff’s Office on the following day.
If anyone has any information please contact Detective Robert McFetridge at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 207-882-7332.
