Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Dec. 27, 2013, Deputy Kenneth Hatch took a report of a theft of a Generac 5500 watt generator (value: $700) from the Jefferson area. The complainant observed a truck enter her driveway and did not notice anything missing at that time. However, three days later she found her generator missing from inside her garage. Further investigation to follow.
Dec. 31, 2013, Rebecca L. Jackson, 37, of Windham was issued a summons for operating after suspension, on Rockland Road, Somerville, by Deputy Hatch.
Dec. 31, 2013, Timothy J. Peaslee, 20, of Whitefield was issued a summons for minor transporting alcohol, on Gardiner Road, Whitefield, by Det. Hayden.
Dec. 31, 2013, Kasey M. Cromwell, 18, of Wiscasset was issued a summons for minor possessing alcohol, on Gardiner Road, Whitefield, by Det. Hayden.
Dec. 31, 2013, Brittney K. Westbrook, 26, of Waldoboro was arrested for violating condition of release, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy James Read.
Jan. 1, Pauline D. Jacobs, 32, of Richmond was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Gardiner Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Jared Mitkus.
Jan. 1, Stephanie J. Lawrence, 37, of Nobleboro was arrested for criminal mischief, on Upper East Pond Road, Nobleboro, by Deputy Matthew Day.
On Dec. 31, 2013, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Somerville involving Rebecca L. Jackson, 37, of Windham. Jackson was operating her 1996 Ford Crown Victoria northbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the ice covered roadway. As a result, her vehicle went off the roadway on the right side and struck a utility pole. Deputy Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 31, 2013, an accident occurred on Bunker Hill Road in Jefferson involving Dylen D. Mahonen, 16, of Rockland. Mahonen was operating his 2001 Toyota Camry northbound when he lost traction on the icy road and crossed the center line. As a result, his vehicle then went off the roadway on the left side and struck the ditch, causing damage to his vehicle. Det. Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 1, an accident occurred on Pond Road in Newcastle involving Ciara R. Salerno, 19, of Bristol and John C. Cheney, 62, of Alna. Salerno was operating her 2000 Lincoln LS northbound in icy road conditions when she rounded a curve in the roadway and lost control of her vehicle. As a result her vehicle fishtailed counter-clockwise into the southbound lane. Cheney was operating his 2005 Chevrolet Equinox southbound and attempted to avoid Salerno’s vehicle, but the rear passenger corner of Salerno’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of Cheney’s on-coming vehicle. Reserve Deputy Mark Walsh was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 1, an accident occurred on Mills Road in Newcastle involving Catherine A. Leyton, 25, of Portland. Leyton was operating her 1994 Toyota 4 Runner northbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the ice covered roadway. As a result, her vehicle skidded off the roadway on the left side and rolled onto its side. Deputy Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 1, an accident occurred on Patricktown Road in Somerville involving Noah Stefan Snaper-Perey, 35, of Brunswick. Perey was operating his 1994 Volvo 940 westbound near the intersection of Dodge Road and was traveling too fast for the road conditions. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway on the left side and struck a utility pole. Deputy Beck was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 2, an accident occurred on Blinn Hill Road in Dresden involving Elizabeth M. Douglass, 68, of Pittston. Douglass was operating her 2004 Toyota Sienna northbound when she lost control of her vehicle, slid off the roadway and struck a telephone pole, causing damage to the passenger side of her vehicle. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 2, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Jordan M. Smerdon, 17, of Bristol. Smerdon was operating his 1999 Chevrolet Impala northbound when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway on the right side and struck the embankment of snow and rolled over onto its roof. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on Head Tide Hill Road in Alna involving Scott V. Jones, 51, of Whitefield. Jones, who was operating his 2003 Honda Element, came down a steep hill and was unable to stop due to icy road conditions. As a result, his vehicle slid through a stop sign, went over the guardrail and down an embankment and came to rest on its roof. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving William H. Workman, 24, of Newcastle and Anthony J. Casella, 67, of Edgecomb. Casella had stopped his 2012 Dodge D1500 in traffic, traveling southbound, awaiting time to enter a private business lot attached to the northbound lane of Route 1. Workman was operating his 1998 Subaru Legacy southbound and failed to see Casella stopped, due to blowing snow. As a result, Workman struck Casella’s vehicle as he attempted to avoid a crash by traveling around it in the southbound breakdown lane. Lt. Rand Maker was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on Ben Bailey Road in Whitefield involving Patrick A. Thayer, 24, of Whitefield and Christopher J. Mayo, 40, of Dresden. Mayo was backing up in his 2003 Ford F550 and Thayer was following the roadway in his 2007 Pontiac Grand Am and came up behind Mayo’s vehicle. As a result, Mayo struck Thayer’s vehicle. Deputy Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on Old County Road in Edgecomb involving Katrina A. Nelson, 21, of Edgecomb and Thomas R. Trowbridge, 69, of Edgecomb. Nelson was operating her 2008 Jeep Compass southbound and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Boothbay Road to wait to turn onto Boothbay Road. Trowbridge backed out of a private driveway in his 2008 Kia Optima onto Old County Road and struck Nelson’s vehicle. Reserve Deputy Mark Walsh was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 4, an accident occurred on Egypt Road in Alna involving Peter J. Lewandowski, 52, of Jefferson. Lewandowski was operating his 2013 Dodge Avenger southbound on a slight grade in snow covered/icy road conditions towards the intersection of Head Tide Road. Mr. Lewandowski attempted to brake for a stop sign at the intersection, but began skidding on the roadway. As a result, his vehicle skidded through the intersection, crossed both lanes of Head Tide Road, went off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. Reserve Deputy Mark Walsh was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 5, an accident occurred on Cooper Road in Whitefield involving Emily M. Cote, 17, of Whitefield. Cote was operating her 2012 Subaru Outback southbound when she attempted to stop at a stop sign, however, her vehicle skidded through the intersection due to the snow covered roadway. As a result, her vehicle left the roadway and struck a large rock. Deputy Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 5, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Ryan J. Shafer, 38, of Waldoboro. Shafer was operating his 1999 BMW 3-Series southbound when he attempted to avoid another vehicle, which was skidding off the roadway. As a result, he lost control on the ice covered roadway and slid off into a ditch. Deputy Hatch was the investigating officer.
