Somerville residents will see a new face behind the town clerk’s desk, after voters elected outgoing selectman Martha Staples to that position.
A total of 133 citizens cast ballots in the March 29 election.
Staples was elected in a race with Delta Chase, by a vote of 79-43.
Incumbent selectmen Susan Greer and Carolyn Doyle were reelected without opposition and receiving 92 and 101 votes, respectively.
In the election for second selectman, Don Chase, 74 votes, prevailed against Larry Peaslee, 19 votes, and write-in candidate Janice Hisler, 25.
Incumbent Treasurer Geraldine Kimball ran unopposed and received 111 votes.
Road Commissioner Jesse Turner won reelection in his race against Bruce Dawson of Jefferson by a close vote of 65-62.
Sandy Dunlap was elected tax collector, unopposed, with 109 votes.
Officials were sworn in at Somerville’s town meeting March 31.
