The state Revenue Service has released the new 2009 valuation figures for Lincoln County municipalities totaling $8.27 billion compared to last year’s $7.98 billion.
Lincoln County commissioners made the figures public during their regular meeting Tuesday morning.
For most of the communities, the valuation has increased with the notable exception of Waldoboro’s valuation, which went from $507.25 million last year to $506.6 million.
Lincoln County’s neighbor to the south, Sagadahoc County, has a total valuation of $4.5 billion while its neighbor to the east, Knox County, has total $7.5 billion valuation.
The tax commitment for each community will depend on year-end surplus, which has not yet been finalized because of invoices to be completed for calendar year 2008, according to County Administrator John O’Connell. The total for 2008 was $8.34 billion.
Alna has been valued at $88.6 million; Boothbay, $1.04 billion; Boothbay Harbor, $894.65 million; Bremen, $248.25 million; Bristol, $1.2 billion; Damariscotta, $382.55 million; Dresden $150.75 million; Edgecomb, $235.55 million; Jefferson, $362.45; Monhegan Plantation, $98.1 million; Newcastle, $311.95 million,
Totals for the remaining towns include, Nobleboro, $350.7 million; Somerville, $52.4 million; South Bristol, $728.85 million; Southport, $506.6; Westport, $240.5 million; Whitefield, $177 million, and Wiscasset, $463.9 million.
By comparison the figures for 2008 totaled for Alna, $82.8 million valuation with a tax commitment of $86.6 million; Boothbay, $1.048 billion and tax, $1.97 billion; Boothbay Harbor, $855.7 million and tax, $895.1 million; Bremen, $284.6 and tax, $297.7 million; Bristol, $1.18 billion and tax, $1.24 billion; Damariscotta, $364.5 million and tax, $381.3 million; Dresden, $141.6 million and tax, $148.1 million; Edgecomb, $234 million and tax, $244.7 million.
Jefferson’s valuation was $356.85 million and tax, $373.2 million; Monhegan Plantation, $85.9 million and tax, $89.85 million; Newcastle, $306.05 million and tax, $320.1 million; Nobleboro, $332 million and tax, $347.29 million; Somerville, $49.25 million and tax, $51.5 million; South Bristol, $640.1 million and tax, $669.58 million; Southport, $678.1 million and tax, $709.38 million; Waldoboro, $507.25 million and tax, $530.6 million; Westport Island, $211.65 million and tax $221.39 million; Whitefield, $169.75 million and tax, $177.56 million, and Wiscasset, $430.3 million and tax, $450.1 million.
