Two Waldoboro teens were attacked by their family dog on Jan. 28. Both victims were brought to the hospital, but police say neither suffering life threatening injuries.
A 12-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy – neither of their names has been released – were in their home around 7 p.m. when their family pit bull attacked.
Waldoboro Police, EMS and the town’s animal control officer responded to the scene. The children were treated and brought to Miles Memorial Hospital. By 8:45 p.m., the animal control officer had removed the dog from the home. It was brought to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter and placed in quarantine, according to a Waldoboro Police Department press release.
Police are still investigating the incident to determine if criminal charges are warranted, said Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde on Jan. 31.
