A 21-year-old Wiscasset man has been indicted with manslaughter and criminal operating under the influence (OUI) in connection with a May 14 auto accident in Wiscasset.
A Lincoln County grand jury charged Dennis J. Jones with Class A manslaughter for allegedly causing the death of Jesse Shaw, 19, also of Wiscasset, who was a passenger in Jones’ pickup truck when the crash occurred on Gibbs Road.
The indictment alleges Jones had a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or more at the time of the fatality.
Shaw was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland after reportedly being ejected from the vehicle and died of his injuries May 21.
Jones, trapped in the pickup after it landed on the roof after being airborne, had to be extricated before he was flown to Central Maine Medical Center and later released.

Joshua D. Benner, 20, of Waldoboro was indicted with Class C burglary and Class E theft by unauthorized taking Feb. 25 in Waldoboro.
Alton G. Colby, 43, of Boothbay was indicted with Class C unlawful possession of scheduled drugs (hydrocodone) June 8 in Boothbay.
Michael J. Connors, 28, of Wiscasset was indicted with Class C assault and Class E violation of condition of release June 11 in Wiscasset.
Jennifer K. Dalessandro, 25, of Augusta was indicted with Class B unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, Class C unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, Class E violation of condition of release, and Class D unlawful possession of scheduled drugs May 5 in Boothbay Harbor.
Christopher E. Davis, 33, of Warren was indicted with Class C tampering with a witness or informant and Class D assault May 24 in Waldoboro.
Kurt F. Donovan, 40, of Boothbay was indicted with Class C domestic violence assault, Class D criminal mischief, Class E failure to stop for an officer, two counts of Class E violation of condition of release, and Class D domestic violence assault May 30-June 9 in Boothbay.
Melissa Ann Elwell, 31, of Bath was indicted with Class C violation of condition of release April 28-May 7 in Wiscasset.
Terry L. Elwell, 33, of Brunswick was indicted with Class C violation of condition of release June 23 in Damariscotta.
Theresa Farrin, 27, of Bristol was indicted with Class B unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, Class B unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs May 30 in Damariscotta.
Neil Fredette, 54, of Nobleboro was indicted with three counts of Class C criminal threatening and Class C terrorizing June 8 in Nobleboro.
Dennis P. Gauthier, 52, of Wiscasset was indicted with Class C operating after revocation June 17 in Wiscasset.
Bruce A. Holt, 23, of Bremen was indicted with Class C aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation, Class D criminal OUI, and Class E violation of condition of release June 13 in Bristol.
Russell S. Luce, 26, of Waldoboro was indicted with Class C tampering with a witness or informant and Class D assault May 24 in Waldoboro.
Jon E. Madore, 53, of Dresden was indicted with Class C aggravated criminal mischief Nov. 1, 2008 in Dresden.
Joseph A. Marco, 40, of Phippsburg was indicted with Class C assault on an officer, Class E violation of condition of release, and Class E failure to sign uniformed summons and complaint May 18 in Wiscasset.
Geoffrey Merritt, 48, of Waldoboro was indicted with Class B unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (heroin), Class C cultivating marijuana, Class C unlawful trafficking in schedule A drugs (marijuana), Class C unlawful possession of schedule W drugs (hydrocodone), and criminal forfeiture of $843.
