LUNCH AND THEATER VIGNETTES FROM LOVE/SICK BY JOHN CARIANI PRESENTED BY THE RIVER COMPANY

Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center, 521 Main Street in Damariscotta will host its weekly lunch and learn program and July 4th Barbeque on Wednesday, July 6 at 11:15 a.m. Following the luncheon members of The River Company’s theatrical troupe will perform a group of short vignettes from their current production of Love/Sick by John Cariani.
Well-known River Company board member Mitchell Wellman is at the helm as director of the troupe’s summer production of Love/Sick. This comedy written by Mainer John Cariani consists of 7 of the 9 vignettes. Mallory Adams and Tyson Bailey debut as directors and each direct a scene from Cariani’s play that has been billed as Almost Maine’s “darker, urban cousin”. Members of the cast include: Christine Anderson, Tyson Bailey, William Burleson, Lainey Catalino, Allison Eddyblouin, Thalia Eddyblouin, Andrea and Tom Handel, Cedric Maguire, Judy McQuillen, Beth and Mike Rowe and Stephen Wallace.
Catch a sneak preview at the Coastal community Center’s luncheon on July 6 and then mark your calendars in JULY for this lively, fast-paced production that explores the joys and pitfalls of relationships and is sure to have audiences laughing, gasping and wiping away a tear or two. Performances will be held in the Porter Meeting Hall of Skidompha Library in Damariscotta July 8, 9, 15, 16 at 7:30 p.m. and July 10 and 17 at 3:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $15.00 for River Company members and $17.00 for non-members. Reservations for seating can be made by calling 563-8116 and are recommended; cash/checks accepted at the door (Elm street entrance)
Luncheon Reservations are required. Please call 563-1363 by 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 to make your luncheon reservation (July 4th Barbecue with Hamburgers and Hot Dogs). For those 60 years of age and over the suggested donation is $5.00 per person. For all other community members Coastal’s lunch and learn program is an affordable dining choice at $6.00 per person.
Can’t make it to lunch? Community members are always welcome to attend the Center’s Wednesday Learn portion of the day’s Lunch and Learn program, which will begin at noon.
Before, during and after lunch Center visitors can also participate in and enjoy the following Wednesday programs:
TNT Whole Body Fitness: Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. A new fitness class taught by senior fitness professional Robin Maginn that offers a total body workout. Drop in fee $5
Morning Yoga with Carol Krajnik: Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. For your whole being, gentle movements calm the mind & relax the body. Fee: $15/class.
On Balance: Getting Stronger-Living Longer, Wednesdays, 10:30 am. Gentle exercises for strength, flexibility and balance with Robin Maginn for those who
are a little bit timid or who haven’t exercised in a while. $4 per class. Sign-up and pay for lunch and the class is only $2.
SAGE (Services and Advocacy for LGBT Elders) Drop In/. Become a part of SAGE’s bi-monthly gatherings aimed at bringing together older adults living in the mid-coast area. There will be light refreshments and the chance to help create a space and opportunity for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and their allies to come together at a time. Both rich and full of change.
