Event Type
FREE Event 3-4:30 pm. Sherman’s Maine Coast Books will host poet and architect Rosa Lane to read poems from TILLER NORTH, winner of the 2014 Sixteen Rivers Press Poetry Competition. TILLER NORTH, just released on April 2, 2016, takes us behind the walls of her coastal fishing village. Raised in a Pemaquid lobster fishing family, Rosa Lane, with her insider’s voice, breaks the code of silence in her telling: secrets embedded within class, sexual identity, familial relationships, death, and rebirth. Lane graduated from Lincoln Academy in 1968, earned her BA from Wilmington College in 1972, her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College in 1982, and her PhD from University of California, Berkeley in 2006. She is an award-winning poet with work published in The Briar Cliff Review, Crab Orchard Review, New Millennium Writings 2015 Anthology, Ploughshares, Poetry Now, Verse Daily, and elsewhere. She will provide a book-signing and answer questions after the reading.
