Do you or your family own a woodland? Have you taken the time to plan and care for your land? Here’s your opportunity to join fellow women woodland owners and foresters at Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson for this day-long workshop designed for YOU. Bring your questions about forest management. Share your story of why your land matters. These indoor and outdoor talks will connect you with knowledge, professionals, and resources needed to help you take care of your woodland.
The workshop will explore:
– Forest management plans
– Timber harvesting dos and don’ts
– Backyard forestry
– Legal aspects of woodland ownership
– Silviculture, the art and science of forest management
Five Maine Foresters and woodland owners will present be resources for the group. $40 HVNC, Midcoast Conservancy, Maine Farmland Trust, & MOFGA members, $25 students, $45 all others, includes lunch.
