Ann D. Severson, 89, of Jefferson, passed away at Cove’s Edge surrounded by her loving family on Aug. 19.
Ann was born in Hartford, Conn. on March 17, 1928, daughter of Thomas and Dorothea (Farrington) Winchenbach.
Ann attended and graduated from Thomaston High School as Valedictorian of her class. Ann was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, and cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ann loved her cats and dogs. She loved playing bingo at Cove’s Edge. She was a member of the Word of Life Church in Waldoboro.
She was predeceased by her parents; daughters, Julie Severson and Linda Cassidy; sisters, Phyllis and Hazel; and grandson, Richard LaCrosse.
Ann is survived by sons, Ernest Roden of Rockland, and Roy Roden of Camden; daughter, Dixie Sproul of Waldoboro; brothers, Thomas Winchenbach and wife Louisa of Dutch Neck, and Robert Winchenbach and wife Elizabeth of Camden; sister, Ruth Castner of Waldoboro; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 1-2 p.m., Fri., Aug. 25 at Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Rawley (Word of Life Church) officiating.
