Anne Jordan, 90, of Waldoboro, passed away at her home on March 25 with her loving family by her side.
Anne was born Aug. 12, 1919 in New Britain, Conn., the daughter of the late Albin and Stella (Korzinski) Lazarski.
She attended local schools and was a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1936. After high school she attended and graduated from Moody’s Secretarial School. During WWII she worked at Fafnir Bearing Company as a time keeper.
On Jan. 18, 1946 she married her husband, Rowland L. Jordan, and the couple made their home in Fairfield, Conn. After her two boys reached high school, she left her job as a stay at home mom and began to work at the Bullard Company as an executive secretary, until her retirement in 1982. After retiring Anne and her husband moved to Waldoboro.
She was very active in many local groups. She was the treasurer of the Waldoboro Woman’s Club for 13 years. She was a volunteer with the Waldoboro Historical Society, The Lincoln Home, and the German Cemetery. Her love for cooking and baking was apparent, as she was always counted on to provide delicious treats for any of the clubs many bake sales. She enjoyed her work with the Woman’s Club annual fundraiser “The Whale of a Sale.” She was very fond of the senior tea, the lunch bunch, and the widows club. Anne was also very active in aerobics, something she did for over 20 years. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Rockland.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Rowland Jordan; brother, Edward Lazarski; and sisters, Helen Lazarski and Mary Kurnik.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas A. Jordan of Waldoboro and David A. Jordan and his wife Andrea of Willimantic, Conn.; grandchildren; Robert W. Caye Jr. and wife Frances of Wilmington, N.C. and Eddy F. Caye, of Norwich, Conn.; great-grandchildren, Jordan Caye of Killingly, Conn. and Justin Caye of Killingly, Conn.; nieces, Donna Barbieri and husband Joseph of New Britain, Conn., Marsha Allen and husband Richard of New Jersey and Linda Jordan of California; nephews, James Murphy of Georgia, Richard Kurnik and wife Joanne of Burlington, Conn., Robert Kurnik of Plainville, Conn. and Robert Jordan of Connecticut; sister, Claire Murphy and husband Richard of New Britain, Conn.; several great-nieces and nephews; great-great-niece, Katie Parrish of Maryland; and her beloved cat Molly.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Tues., March 30 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro with a mass of Christian 10 a.m., Wed., March 31 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, Rockland.
