Anthony J. Casella, 71, of Nobleboro, passed away peacefully on the morning of Dec. 13 at the LincolnHealth – Miles Campus with his loving wife by his side. Born on April 15, 1946 in Boston, Mass., he was the son of Vincenzo and Marion Casella.
Tony was taught at a very young age to work and work hard. At the age of nine, he had to go straight from school to his dad’s shoe repair shop, to help in the family business. From that point on, his drive was to work and provide for his family.
Tony married Sandra Bell when they were just teenagers, and together they had three children. Later he married Judith Batchelder.
Tony is survived by wife, Judi; children, James and wife Barbara of Lisbon, Anthony M. and wife April of Turner, and Sandra (Missy) of Turner; stepsons, Leslie (Bo) Batchelder of Plymouth, and Jonathan Batchelder of Edgecomb; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, including a very special cousin, Babe of Ohio.
A time of visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Sat., Dec. 16 followed by a celebration of his life at 11 a.m., both taking place at the Bible Baptist Church, 143 Beechnut Hill Rd., Wiscasset. Immediately following the service, a time of food and fellowship will be provided in the church gymnasium. He will be laid to rest privately in Edgecomb in the spring.
