Cecile Emilie (Morin) Gifford, 79, of Waldoboro, peacefully passed away Aug. 28 at LincolnHealth – Miles Campus.
She was born on Feb. 16, 1938 in Damariscotta to Joseph P. Morin and Irma M. Morin.
Cecile graduated from Lincoln Academy in 1957, she then married Joseph L. Gifford Sr. becoming a homemaker and raising their three children in Round Pond and Damariscotta. Later in life she traveled the U.S. RVing and co-driving a long-distance hauling truck with her late husband Fred D. Coughlin, they settled in Kernersville, N.C. until her move back to Maine in 2011. Cecile enjoyed cooking and crocheting in her spare time.
She was predeceased by her mother and father; sisters, Dorothy Genthner; Marilyn Banks, and Eldina Larrabee; and her husbands.
She is survived by son, Joseph L. Gifford and wife Patricia of Newcastle; daughters, Lisa M. Vinal of Litchfield, Michelle L. Eugley and husband Rodger of Waldoboro; sisterly niece, Irma and husband Richard Prentice of Damariscotta; and brother, Milford Rhodes and wife Jessie of Belfast; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and beloved dog, Precious Ann.
A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
