Chris J. Lackovic, 49, of Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sept. 18. Chris was born on May 15, 1965 in Englewood, N.J. After moving to North Nobleboro, then to Waldoboro, Chris eventually settled down in Jefferson.
Chris was a hard working guy who didn’t mind getting his hands dirty whether it was a project of his own, or helping someone out with their project. Whenever someone had something broken or something that needed to be figured out, Chris was the first one to lend a hand and dig in to get to the bottom of it. He enjoyed tinkering.
After a long day’s work on the road, Chris could be found at his home in Jefferson relaxing with an ice cold drink – and his door was always open for family and friends. Chris enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending many of his deer hunting days at his favorite spots in Waldoboro, where he harvested a nice buck last season. He enjoyed the outdoors, and loved a good joke and a laugh. He loved animals, especially his last two pets, Sam and Jack.
Chris is survived by his parents, Pat and Don Hastings of Jefferson; parents, Dennis and Cindy Lackovic of Blairstown, N.J.; brothers, Randy Lackovic of Bristol, and Steve Lackovic of Bristol; sister, Donna Lewis of Florida; aunt and uncle, Margaret and Donald Gaglione of Jefferson; several cousins; close friends, Duane and Cathy Rolerson; as well as many friends at the Maine Department of Transportation.
A private celebration will be held at a later date.
