Clarke Edward “Skip” Lang, 65, of Nolanville, Tex., died Oct. 2 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Tex. with his family by his side.
He was born April 4, 1943 in Boothbay, son of Percy and Constance (Rowe) Lang.
He was raised in Edgecomb and attended Edgecomb and Wiscasset schools. He was a construction worker in his early years. His love of cars and his ability to restore them would become his life long vocation. He started Skip’s Auto Body Shop in Georgetown in the 70s and continued his business in Texas when he moved there in 1983.
For those who knew and loved Skip, he was certainly a man with a dream. He had a love of God and a willingness to share anything he had, whether it be food, a kind word or even just a smile. He was truly a kind and giving soul.
He was predeceased by his infant son, Neil Joel Lang.
Surviving him are his wife Lilly of Nolanville, Tex.; six children, Barbara Marinez, Juanita Johnson, Lisa Hisler, Abel Lang, Jason Lang and Jimbo Lang; five siblings, Jon Lang, Richard Lang, Rebecca Ellis, Patricia Knight and Christine Gagne; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; seven stepchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of his life 1 p.m., Sun., Oct. 19 at the home of his brother, Richard Lang, 5 Kohler Rd., Dresden.
