Cynthia Kellogg Skipp, of Southbury, Conn. and Round Pond, loving wife of the late Rev. Warren C. Skipp, died June 6 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
Cynthia Kellogg Skipp was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Waterbury, Conn., a daughter of the late Frederic Rice and Lucy Templeton Kellogg; and granddaughter to former Connecticut governor Charles A. Templeton. She attended St. Margaret’s School (Chase Collegiate), in Waterbury, Conn., and graduated from Rogers Hall in Lowell, Mass. She graduated from Smith College in 1951 and married her husband, Warren, in June 1953. Mrs. Skipp was a board member of the Riverside Cemetery, Waterbury, Conn., and had served on the vestry of St. Andrew’s Church, Kent, Conn. She was an avid gardener and reader, a long-time member of Sexta Feira; and traveled extensively in Europe with her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Skipp honeymooned in Round Pond, and purchased their home there in 1957. Mrs. Skipp lived in Watertown, Conn. for the past nine years before moving to The Watermark at East Hill in Southbury, Conn.
Mrs. Skipp is survived by her sons, Andrew K. Skipp of Middlebury, Conn., and David C. Skipp of Leesburg, Va.; daughter, Lucy S. Craft of Media, Penn.; seven grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Skipp of Middlebury, Conn., Katherine, Margaret, and James Skipp of Leesburg, Va., and Patrick Fleming and Charlotte Craft of Media, Penn.; brothers, Charles T. Kellogg of Watertown, Conn., and Peter M. Kellogg of Denver, Col.; and sister, Judith Kellogg Rowley, Middlebury, Conn.
