Donna M. Seiders, 76, passed away on the afternoon of Feb. 24 at the Dionne Commons in Brunswick after courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on Nov. 26, 1938 in Damariscotta, she was the daughter of Frederick and Ruby (Osier) York.
Donna grew up in Damariscotta Mills, where she lived all of her life. She attended local schools and graduated from Lincoln Academy in 1956. After school, she had several odd jobs, but for the most part she stayed at home and raised her six children whom she loved more than life itself.
She enjoyed trips to the Alewife stream with her children, and spending time at the swimming hole. She had a fear of thunder and lightning storms, and her children will always remember her waking them in the middle of the night and packing them in the car until the storm passed.
She loved traveling up north on the Golden Road, and enjoyed eating out. She also loved to read.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Lloyd Bailey; and brothers, Kenneth York, Arthur York, and David York.
She is survived by her children, Danny Bailey, Ruby Bailey, Donna Hannan, Raymond Seiders, and David Seiders; brother, Fredrick York; grandchildren, Cortney Hannan, Sam Delano, Benjamin Bailey, Maegan Bailey, Shakira Caldwell, Jesse Bailey, Misti Bailey, Kyle Hannan, Nichole Hannan, Adam Sprague, Alissa Sprague, Ryan Bailey, Keya Seiders, and William Seiders; as well as eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
