Dorothy L. Stephenson, 84, died Aug. 5 at her home in Boothbay Harbor. She was born Aug. 14, 1921 in Jefferson, the daughter of Forrest and Jennie Johnson Hodgkins.
Dorothy attended local schools and graduated from Lincoln Academy in Newcastle. After high school, she married Howie Davison.
Dorothy worked as a dietician at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, and at a local bank in New York. She was a stewardess on the Stardust Boat out of Boothbay Harbor, which was captained by Charlie Collins. She later married Charlie Collins.
After Charlie’s death, she married Steve Stephenson and they have been married for thirty years.
Dorothy was a member of the Bunker Hill Grange in Jefferson. She loved antiques, square dancing and especially spending time with her beloved family.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Sherri ann.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, William M. “Steve” Stephenson of Boothbay Harbor; stepson, James L. Stephenson of Phippsburg; daughter, Marta Jane; sister, Martha Stetson of Boothbay; two nieces, Becky Lamb of Standish and Lori Murray of Boothbay; and several nephews.
Private memorial service at Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay with Rev. Bob Zimmerli officiating.
