Dorothy (Onischuk) Stacy, 87, of Gardner, Mass., died peacefully July 2 in Legend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gardner, Mass., after a brief illness.
She was born in Gardner, Mass. on April 1, 1923, the daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine (Stankewicz) Onischuk and was a lifelong resident of Gardner.
Dorothy worked many years ago at the former Kelly Brothers Furniture Co. and Lilly Varnish Co. For the last 40 years, she was a Fuller Brush dealer in the Gardner area. She was a 1942 graduate of Gardner High School. Dorothy was a member of the Polish American Social League and served as its treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the Greater Gardner Golden Age Club, Gardner AARP, St. Joseph’s Church and the Westminster Historical Association.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Arnold C. Stacy, in 1992; and brothers, Frank Onischuk and Walter Onischuk.
She leaves a daughter, Mary E. Stacy of Wiscasset, as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces.
In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Burial will be private.
