Eleanor Charlotte Gruhn, of Waldoboro, passed away on June 7 at MaineGeneral Hospital in Augusta. Eleanor was born on Oct. 7, 1925 in South Boston, daughter of Paul and Mary (Philben) Gruhn.
She attended schools in Massachusetts as a child. She moved to Waldoboro in 1945 and spent the rest of her life there.
Eleanor was a private person who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and watching television, especially Perry Mason.
Eleanor was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Harold and Francis; and infant brother, Richard.
She is survived by niece, Mary Bixby (Joseph) of Oakland; nephews, David Gruhn of Bristol, Conn., and Frank Gruhn of Fairfield; cousin and best friend, Doris Prock (Wallace) of Waldoboro; and cousins, Karon Reed (Arnold) of Jefferson, Wendy Northrup (Wayne) of Jefferson, Randy Prock (Cindy) of Union, and Jean Winslow of Rockport.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Wed., June 15 at the New Calvary Cemetery, 800 Harvard St., Mattapan, Mass.
