Eleesha Lyle Tonken, of Waldoboro, passed away unexpectedly April 19 at her home.
Eleesha was born in Rockland on Aug. 5, 1953 and grew up and lived most of her life in Maine. She had a powerful presence in every life that she touched. She beautified our world with her artistic talent for gardening, filled our bellies with her delicious and abundant cooking, and filled our souls with her colorful humor, animated stories, and her generosity and love. She amazed us with her many talents, seemingly limitless knowledge, incredible stubbornness and her humble nature. She loved her family, her animals, her gardens, antiques and cooking glorious meals at every gathering she put on or attended. She will be missed by all who knew her for her laughter and her love.
She was a mother, grandmother, wife, sister and daughter. Her memory survives in her loving husband of 33 years, Elliott Tonken; sons, Louis Natale and wife Kristine, Stephen “Gus” Natale and partner Kari, and Duane Natale; and grandchildren, Cole, Quinn, Alora, and Duncan.
A celebration of her life will be held when the flowers are in full bloom. Services will be announced soon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to help Elliott in his time of need: PO Box 291, Waldoboro, ME 04572.
