Ernestine Ann Connelly, 72, of Waldoboro, died Oct. 13 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. She was born Oct. 5, 1938 in Waldoboro, a daughter of the late Ernest E. and Lenora A. (Wood) Black.
Mrs. Connelly was a graduate of Waldoboro High School, a member of the class of 1956, and of the Gorham State Teachers College in 1960. On July 9, 1960 she married John “Jack” Connelly in Damariscotta. Mrs. Connelly was a teacher at the Miller School in Waldoboro for 33 years, teaching fourth and fifth grades until her retirement in 2001. She loved spending time with her family and friends, knitting, quilting, sewing, reading and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of more than 44 years who died Nov. 9, 2004; brother, Edwin Black; sisters, Esther Poland and Marguerite David; and brother-in-law, Dennis Connelly.
Mrs. Connelly is survived by son, David Connelly and wife Stacey of San Antonio, Tex.; daughter, Susan Bramhall and husband Philip of Friendship; granddaughters, Amanda Lash and husband Benjamin of Cushing, Alison Bramhall of Friendship and Anna Connelly of San Antonio, Tex.; grandson, Aidan Connelly of San Antonio, Tex.; great-grandson, Noah Lash of Cushing; brother, John Black of Waldoboro; sisters-in-law, Karen Brown of Monroe, N.J. and Edna Black of Wilmington, N.C.
Private services will be held at the convenience of her family.
