Eva J. McLain, 87, of Waldoboro, died April 14 at the Sussman House in Rockport surrounded by the family she loved.
She was born April 2, 1931 in Waldoboro, daughter of Ralph and Cora Johnson.
She worked as a waitress in Waldoboro where she met Ralph McLain Jr. and later became his wife for 56 years until his passing in 2007. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She also worked at Sylvania and worked for the Waldoboro Miller School as a lunch lady. She loved being with all the kids who knew her as Muffin.
She is survived by daughter, Rita Richardson and husband David Richardson of Gilford, N.H.; granddaughter, Erika Edgar and husband Joel Edgar of Somersworth, N.H.; grandson, Andrew Richardson and fiancee Tonianne Piscitello of Portsmouth, N.H; sisters, Ruth Higgins and Dorothy Goff and husband Richard, all of Manchester, N.H.; sisters-in-law, Celia Ramsdell of Pittston, and Winona Johnson of Waldoboro; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Shuman Cemetery at a later date.
