
Father Bruce Ames Alexander, of Dresden, passed away March 27. He was born Aug. 6, 1930 in Rockland to Leonard Ezekiel Frank Alexander and Nettie Mae Call Alexander.
He spent his life in Dresden where he graduated from Bridge Academy in 1949. He married to Marjorie Moody Alexander on Sept. 9, 1953, and together they raised their four children. He was an avid listener of classical music and opera and had a great interest in local and national history.
Father Alexander also served at several churches in the area, including the Riverview Congregational Church in South Gardiner, Christ Church in Gardiner, and St. Matthias in Richmond. After many years of loyal service and dedicated presence in the church community, he became ordained as a priest of the Episcopal Church.
Father Alexander is survived by wife. Marjorie; son, Bruce and partner Hope Ricker; daughters, Susan Seeley, Andrea Salib, and Celia Alexander and husband Artie Karagiozis; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wed., April 4 at Christ Church Episcopal in Gardiner.
