Gael Miriam Johnson, of Waldoboro, passed away Aug. 28. She was born Jan. 7, 1951 in Everett, Mass. to William J. Galvin and Frances L. Gillen.
Gael grew up in Revere and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Revere. She lived in West Gloucester, Mass., Dixmont, and most recently in Waldoboro. She married Ronald E. Johnson on Jan. 23, 1971 in Exeter, N.H. After high school she worked as a switchboard operator. She then became a professional homemaker full time.
She loved spending time with her children and family at the family cottage at Winnipesaukee.
Gael is predeceased by her parents; son, Ronnie Johnson; and sisters, Michelle Pawlak and Joanne D’Orlando.
Gael is survived by husband, Ronald Johnson of Waldoboro; daughter, Gael Johnson (Daryl) of Middleboro, Mass.; granddaughter, Sarah Johnson of Middleboro, Mass.; sister, Margaret “Bubby” Joy (George) of So. Weymouth, Mass.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1 p.m., Thurs., Sept. 1 at the Dixmont Corner Cemetery, off State Route 9, Dixmont, with a reception to follow at Brooks Bible Church, 30 Jewell St., Brooks.
