Harland George Ogilvie, 41, of Augusta, formerly Jefferson, died unexpectedly Aug. 14 at his residence.
Harland was born on May 10, 1968, the son of George E. Ogilvie and Antoinette M. (Morin) Ogilvie. He was a graduate of Lincoln Academy, Class of 1986.
He joined the U.S. Army after graduation, and served in Korea during his first tour of duty. He reenlisted, serving in the Persian Gulf War from 1990-1991.
After his discharge from the Army, he began working as a carpenter in the Boothbay and Jefferson area.
Harland was a military history enthusiast, and liked to spend his leisure time fishing.
Harland is survived by his father, George Ogilvie; mother, Antoinette Ogilvie, both of Jefferson; son, Harland Ogilvie, Jr. of Jefferson; sister, Marie Clark of Westbrook; brother, Russell Ogilvie of Scarborough; and a niece and nephew.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m., Tues., Aug. 18 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Celebration of Harland’s life 11 a.m., Wed., Aug. 19 at the Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Robert Dorr officiating.
