Heather Geisler Coutts, 43, died at the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Fla. on July 21 after a severe asthma attack causing respiratory arrest and unconsciousness.
She was born Jan. 5, 1972 in Massillon, Ohio. Heather grew up in Camden and moved to Florida as an adult. Her love for animals, family, and friends were ever present in her life – she could not turn away an animal or person in need, always giving of her time and love. Maine held a special place in her heart, and her trips home were opportunities to share her special memories with loved ones. Heather’s most precious gift was her daughter Alyssa, whom she loved with all her heart.
She will be greatly missed by husband, Greg Coutts; daughter, Alyssa; step-daughter, Lindsey; step-son, Gregory, all of Casselberry, Fla.; mother, Carol Brown and husband Jeff of Waldoboro; father, Paul Geisler and wife Jeanette Hayes of Waldoboro; brother, Michael Geisler, wife Audra, and their sons, Brecken and Grayden of Lincolnville; aunt, Mary Chamberlain of Bangor; cousin, Anne Small and husband Jon of Bangor; cousin, Paul Chamberlain and wife Sherry of Montclair, N.J.; step-sisters, Ann Croteau of Louisville, Col., and Lori Hayes of Waldoboro; step-brother, Thomas Hayes of Waldoboro; best friends, Michael Rogers and his mother Judy of St. Cloud, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Maine this fall to honor Heather. Memorial donations may be made to local animal rescue organizations to carry on Heather’s love of animals.
