Helen L. Murray, 73, of Westport Island, formerly of Bath, passed away June 29 at a Brunswick hospital.
She was born in Woolwich on Dec. 13, 1933, a daughter of Ralph C. Sr. and Clara L. Cromwell Wright.
She attended Woolwich, Westport Island, and Bath schools.
She married Kenneth M. Murray Jr. on Nov. 6, 1950, in Bath.
She devoted her life to raising her family and serving the Lord through a variety of church ministries at Woolwich Wiscasset Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school and was Sunday school superintendent for a number of years, was active in the bus ministry, assisted her husband in the prison ministry at Thomaston State Prison, and sang gospel music in churches throughout the State of Maine. She also was active in Christian outreach to the public.
She enjoyed Bible study, and bowling, scrap booking, and decorating photo albums.
She is predeceased by five brothers, Ralph C. Wright II, Adrien Wright, Ellsworth Wright, Donald Wright, and David Wright; sister, Catherine Fortier; and a great-grandson, Bryson Milstead.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years; son, Richard A Murray and wife Lisa of Westport Island; daughters, Cathy L. Fuller and husband Andrew of Westport Island, Terri L. Norton and husband Ross of Westport Island, and Tana L. Stillwell and husband Troy of Wiscasset; brother, Robert McEachern and wife Helga of Florida; sister, Patricia Laycox of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Private burial Sat., June 30 at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Woolwich.
