Janet E. Peters, 84, of Boothbay, passed away peacefully on March 21 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.
She was the daughter of Gerald and Hazel (Clifford) Pinkham of Boothbay Harbor.
She was born in Boothbay Harbor, attended local schools and raised her family here. Janet worked as a chambermaid in the area, and retired from the Flagship Motel after many years of employment. She loved her family, enjoyed company, going for a ride, and going out to dinner. She was described as a “sweetheart” to those who knew her; she loved everyone, and “loved life.”
Janet was predeceased by her husband, Edward Peters; and son, Timothy.
She is survived by daughters, Debra Bartley and partner Steve Pitcher of Boothbay Harbor, and Rhonda Belgard and husband Harold of Boothbay; sons, Dennis and wife Pam Peters of Boothbay, and David Peters also of Boothbay; sisters, “Deanie” Blake, Dilys Washburn, and Sandra Barter, all of Boothbay Harbor, and Roberta Chubbuck of Edgecomb; brothers, Larry Pinkham of Boothbay, Darryl Pinkham of Edgecomb, and Gary Pinkham of Boothbay Harbor; grandchildren, Philip Bartley, Sara Bartley, Stacy Peters, Brian Peters, and Jesse Peters; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., April 28 at Evergreen Cemetery, Boothbay, followed by a celebration of life at 1 p.m. at the KP Hall, Lakeside Dr., Boothbay Harbor.
