Johnny Morrison passed away on April 16 with his friends at the Gibson Pavillion at Maine Medical Center in Portland, with his family by his side after a phenomenal battle with Leukemia. He was a dedicated and passionate fisherman who had an intense loyalty and love for his family and friends. He also had a “real fire” for the great outdoors. He was known for his kind generosity and zest for life.
Johnny was born on Sept. 19, 1951 in Rockland to Etta and Mertic Morrison. He lived half his life on Swan’s Island and the other half in Jefferson.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne Morrison; dogs Leroy and Sadie; daughters, Bobbi Kirchdorfer, Jessie Morrison and Tracy Morrison; sons-in-law, Bruce Kirchdorfer and John Souza; grandchildren, Larissa Sykes, Ashley Souza, Celyna Morrison and Johnathan Souza, all of Jefferson; mother, Etta Morrison of New Harbor; siblings, Myrna Morrison of Waterville, Linda Vanella and husband Rick of New Harbor, Christine Morrison of Brattleboro, Vt., Dennis Morrison and wife Tami of Damariscotta, Michael Morrison of New Harbor, Mary Stevenson and husband Thomas of Jefferson and April Morrison of Nobleboro; special niece, Melissa Tozier of Ellsworth; aunts, Theo May, Leona Buswell and Betsy of Swan’s Island and Theresa Orcutt and husband Harris of Bremen; uncle, Albert Buswell of Swan’s Island; many nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as his extended and loving family of Willie and Debbie Viola of Windham, and Dale Beauschene of Casco.
An hour of visitation 11 a.m., Thurs., April 22 with service to follow at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Jefferson immediately following the service.
