John F. “Jack” Wagstaff, 73, of Boothbay passed away on June 8. He was born April 1, 1942 in Boothbay to Charles B. and Ella G. (Farnham) Wagstaff.
Jack attended Boothbay Center Grammar School and Boothbay Region High School until his senior year when he joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17. Jack left the Army in 1963 with an honorable discharge and continued his construction work starting with Larry Oaks for five years and H.C. Crooker & Sons of Topsham for over 39 years. Jack enjoyed hunting and gardening with passion. He loved taking his family and friends to look for moose and deer.
Jack was pre-deceased by his parents; brother, Charles Wagstaff; sister, Ruth McLellan; in-laws, Clay and Naomi Beam; and grandson, Wayne.
He leaves behind his wife, Martha G. Beam Wagstaff, whom he loved very much; children, Sherry and husband Dale Chadbourne, Vicky and husband Brian Chadwick, Kim and husband Stevie Goodenow, Jackie and husband Danny Peaslee, Chris and husband Billy Murphy, all of Woolwich, Sherri and husband Thom Bernier of Springfield, Mass., and Paul and wife Sandy Sikes of Greenville; brother, Peter and wife Ronnie Wagstaff of Boothbay Harbor; sisters, Mary Pinette of Lisbon Falls, Gayle and husband David White of Warren, and Freda and husband Bud Truchon of Concord, N.H.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
