Joyce M. Lincoln, 77, of Whitefield, died Sept. 9 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with her family at her side.
She was born in Gardiner on Nov. 17, 1934, a daughter of Ernest M. and Orpha Rand Damon.
Joyce was a graduate of Bridge Academy in Dresden. She married Earl Lincoln in 1953, her husband of 40 years until he predeceased her in 1993. She followed him to Fort Sill, Okla. when he joined the U.S. Army. They came back to Whitefield where they settled to raise their family.
Joyce enjoyed making fudge, banana bread and friendship cakes. She enjoyed her CB radio, being with her family and friends. She had many computer friends and fellow CBers. She spoke with a lot of friends from all over the country. Her handle was Nanny. She was on her computer chatting all hours of the night (after she did her housework!)
She was stubborn, strong-willed, and a good friend, willing to help when needed.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl; brother, John; and sister, Phyllis.
She is survived by her children, Gary J. Lincoln of Whitefield, Jerry A. Lincoln and wife Cathy of Somerville and Diane M. Lincoln of Frisco, Tex.; brothers, Ellsworth Damon of Whitefield, and Ralph Damon of Pittston; grandchildren, Libby Mays, Nicole Chapko and Tennyson Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Meredith Mays and Madeleine Mays; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services 1 p.m., Wed., Sept. 12 at Old Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive in Augusta.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
