Judith Svea (Carlson) Moreau, 76, of Franklin, Mass., passed away suddenly on Aug. 18 at Milford Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of her beloved soul mate Ernest R. Moreau, a.k.a. Bumpa.
A lifelong Norfolk, Mass. resident, she lived in Newcastle for 20 years upon retirement, returning to the area four years ago. She was a 1959 graduate of King Philip Regional High School, and was a nursing assistant at the former Medfield State Hospital and Pondville Hospital, OR secretary at Southwood Hospital, office manager for Dr. John Frasca, and after retirement, served as the deputy town clerk for the town of Newcastle.
She was the beloved mother of Allison Bickum and husband Christopher of Frye Island, Richard Dill and wife Carol of Bellingham, Mass., Majliss Brouwer and husband Jeffrey of Walpole, Mass., and Roy Nelson and wife Kerri of Plainville, Mass., and stepmom to Kenneth Moreau and Carolyn of Maryland. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Ryan Moreau, Caitlin Dewitt, Amanda Bickum, Victoria Dill, Taylor Dill, Thomas Nelson, Raymond Brouwer, Roy Brouwer, Samuel Nelson, and Erik Nelson; and great-grandchildren, Paige, Connor and Patrick Moreau.
She is survived by her loving siblings, Marnie Cornell of Plainville, Mass., Maddie Cantoreggi and husband Robert of Foxboro, Mass., Richard Carlson and wife Louise of Palm Harbor, Fla., Sally Austin of North Attleboro, Mass., and Robert Carlson and wife Joan of Norfolk, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her favorite cousin, Raoul Svensson of Sweden.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tues., Aug. 22 at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St., Wrentham, Mass. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wed., Aug. 23 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 24 Berwick St., Norwood. Interment will be at the Norfolk Cemetery at a later date.
