Kathryn M. Hillman, 90, wife of the late Lt. Col. Albert L. Hillman USAF, died on Nov. 12.
Kathryn was born Jan. 2, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Charles and Marie Gallasch. She was formerly from Hempstead, N.Y. and Northport N.Y.
She graduated from Hempstead High School, and McDowell School of Design in Manhattan, N.Y. in 1936. Kathryn was a descendant of a long line of German artists.
She was a member and past president of the Waldoboro Women’s Club and president of the Women’s Club of the Northport Presbyterian Church in Northport, N.Y.
She loved playing bridge, and doing crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader and gardener. She loved knitting and crocheting and made many items for fundraisers in her lifetime.
She is survived by her sons, Albert L. Hillman Jr. of Harpswell, Charles F. Hillman of Friendship, and Jeffrey J. Hillman of Waldoboro; and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Hillman, also from Waldoboro.
Kathryn requested that no service be held.
Before her death, she requested that donations be sent in her memory to the Friendship Ambulance in Friendship.
