Leatrice J. Davis, 75, passed away on March 17 at Windward Gardens in Camden, after a long illness.
She was born April 18, 1931 in Warren, the daughter of Charles B. and Edna R. Post Dolham. She grew up and was educated in Warren.
She liked to crochet but her favorite pastime was reading. You could find her at any given time of the day with a book in her hand. Sometimes she liked a book so much that she would get up in the middle of the night just to finish it. She also liked having her family around her and she loved going to the fairs.
She worked in nursing homes, and boarding homes and for years, worked on egg farms for Carl Erikson. Her last employer was Moody’s Diner where she worked for 15 years, loving every year that she was there.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ed Davis; and stepson, Larry Davis.
Survivors include her six children, Brenda Keys of Waldoboro, Doug Collins and wife Donna of Thomaston, Terry Gray and husband Ernie of Warren, Adrian Davis and wife Brenda of Union, Twyla Caufield and husband Joe of Jefferson, and George Davis and wife Phyllis of Waldoboro; stepdaughter, Louise Johnson of Pittston; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great grandchild; her companion for ten years, Fred Gracie and his daughter Suzanne from Camden who was like a daughter to her and whom she loved dearly; brother, Charles Dolham, Jr. of Warren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service 2 p.m., Sun., June 10 at Post Cemetery on Rt. 235 in Warren.
