Linda Edith Barter, 64, of Boothbay, passed away at her home on Oct. 3. She was born on July 26, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Penn. to Samuel and Lula (Blanche) Junker.
Linda grew up in Pittsburgh and then moved to Irwin, Penn. where she graduated from North Irwin High School. She met her beloved husband, Tom, in Irwin, where he served in the U.S. Army. Tom finished his Army career in Pennsylvania before the two of them moved to Maine. She worked for 26 years at the Boothbay Library and also worked at Brown’s Wharf Inn as a chambermaid.
Linda loved to shop. She enjoyed reading, being on her computer, and watching movies and television shows. Her favorite television show was Bones. Linda loved spending time with her grandson, Dylan. She also made two trips every year to Pennsylvania to see family and friends.
Linda was a selfless person and always put other people ahead of herself, especially her family. She never forgot birthdays, and loved Christmas. Her pets were very dear to her as well; she loved her dogs and enjoyed raising chickens.
Linda was very thankful for all of the valuable friendships she had throughout the years.
Linda was predeceased by her brother, Ugene Junker.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Tom Barter of Boothbay; son, Eric Barter of Boothbay; grandson, Dylan Blackman of Oxford; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends; and special four-legged companions, Molly and GiGi.
