Linda Lee (Hopkins) Jackson, 71, of Keene, N.H., was taken home to our Lord and Savior on June 23 at Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, N.H. after a short battle with cancer.
She was born in Gardiner on May 2, 1946, the daughter of the late Norman and Helen (Brann) Hopkins. She graduated from Whitefield Grammar School and Erskine Academy in South China. She became a beautician and later a nurse. She was always concerned about people so nursing was just a natural extension of her caring.
After her husband Fred passed away, she moved from Florida to Keene, N.H. to be close to her daughter, Amy. She loved spending summers in Maine with her nephew Gary Cooper of Augusta. Her family would come visit her there and she especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren Adalynn, Penelope, and Tanner. She enjoyed going to the Maine State Music Theater, cooking, sightseeing and being with old friends and family. She loved being around her grandchildren and more recently was delighted to have great-grandchildren to spoil. She will be remembered for her kindness and love of family and friends.
She was predeceased by husband, Manfred (Fred) Aschmutat; sisters, Marion Honnen and husband Frederick, and Vivian Gilbert and husband Manley; and brothers, Sheldon Hopkins, Mahlon Hopkins and wife Barbara, Carroll Hopkins, and Douglas Hopkins.
She is survived by daughters, Lisa King and husband Michael of Seabrook, Tex., and Amy Huntley and husband James of Keene, N.H.; grandchildren, Jamie King, Sarah King and husband Anthony Smullen, Zachary Huntley and wife Heather, and Ivy Huntley and fiance Taylor Williams; great-grandchildren, Adalynn King, Penelope Williams, and Tanner Williams; sisters-in-law, Alice Hopkins of Vassalboro, and Shirley Hopkins of Mims, Fla.; ex-husband, Glen Jackson of Florida and Whitefield; brother-in-law, David Jackson and wife Rose; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral service. Interment will be at 4 p.m., Sat., July 15 at the Whitefield Cemetery.
