Linda J. Witt, 52, of Dresden, passed away unexpectedly April 16 at her home.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1956 in Brockton, Mass., the daughter of Eugene and Myrtle (Preble) Witt.
Linda graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a B.S. in nursing in 1986. She worked in the Geriatric and Rehabilitation field of nursing.
Linda proudly served her country in the US Army during the Vietnam era.
She was a member of the South Gardiner Baptist Church. Linda enjoyed nature walks, gardening, knitting, cooking and especially helping friends.
Linda was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her brothers William Witt and wife Holly of Harmony, Douglas Witt and wife Paula of Massachusetts; sister, Elaine White and husband Peter of Richmond; step-father, Rollins Preble and companion Millie Booth of Bowdoinham; nephew, Derek Witt, wife Christina and family of Utah; niece, Nicole White and family of Portland; many close friends; and her cats Butterscotch, Bear and Sam.
Memorial service 11 a.m., Mon., April 21 at the South Gardiner Baptist Church, South Gardiner. A private burial will take place at Maine Veterans Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St., Richmond.
