Lois Winchester Pye, 91, of East Boothbay, died peacefully at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor on Nov. 18 after a long illness.
She was born on Aug. 28, 1926 in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass. to Marshall H. and Adelaide (Winne) Winchester. She had been a resident of Windsor, Conn. from 1935 until 1988. She met her future husband Allen R. Pye, of Hartford, Conn., after he returned from his WWII military service in Germany and France in 1946. They were married in Windsor, Conn. in May of 1947, and raised their three children there.
Lois and her husband moved to Maine after they both retired.
She was predeceased by her husband, Allen, who died in 2003; sister, Ann; and grandsons, Andrew and Scott.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by daughters, Terry Spottiswoode of Cape Cod, Mass., and Beth E. Pye of Windsor Locks, Conn.; son, Richard Winchester Pye of East Boothbay; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
There will not be any services at this time. The family will hold a memorial at a later date.
