Lolita Webber Rooker, 68, of Waldoboro, died Jan. 7 at her home. She was born May 11, 1943 in Newcastle to Arthur and Laura Murcurda Witham. She was raised by Arthur Witham and Marguerite Webber. She grew up and attended local schools in Newcastle and Portland. She married Peter Webber and together they lived in Hartford, Conn. They moved to Waldoboro in 1974.
She was an innkeeper for a short time before going into nursing. She worked as a private duty nurse and also at Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro. She retired early due to illness.
She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed making and selling crafts at local flea markets. She also enjoyed listening to audiobooks.
She was predeceased by a son, Arthur Webber in 1985; first husband, Peter Webber in 1992; and second husband, George Rooker in 2004.
She is survived by daughters, Wanda Webber of Waldoboro, Sonja Webber of Nobleboro, Faith Brazier of Waldoboro, and Melinda Martel of Antrim, N.H.; grandchildren, Caitlyn Brazier-Ferrar of Tenants Harbor, Mikayla Brazier of Waldoboro, and Austin Martel of Antrim, N.H.; sisters, Mildred Poland of Bremen, and Gloria Elliott of Harpswell.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Wed., Jan. 11 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Funeral 1 p.m., Thurs., Jan. 12 at the Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in the German Protestant Cemetery in Waldoboro in the spring.
