Loretta “Bunny” Bowman, 71, of Waldoboro, died unexpectedly on July 11 at her home.
She was born April 19, 1945 in Lewiston, a daughter of the late Sidney and Francina (Page) Knight.
Bunny was a graduate of Morse High School in Bath, a member of the class of 1963. On May 15, 1965 she married Edgar “Skip” O. Bowman Jr.
She made her life as a homemaker while her children were young and later became a personal caregiver. She looked forward to her annual trips to Moosehead with her husband, visiting Pemaquid Point with her children and grandchildren, and attending family gatherings at Thomas Point Beach in Brunswick. She enjoyed going for rides. She battled cancer and won, she was a survivor. Bunny lived for her children and grandchildren and will be remembered by all who knew her, as being devoted to her family with unconditional love.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Arthur “Squeak” Bowman.
In addition to her husband of more than 51 years, “Skip,” Bunny is survived by son, Brian L. Bowman and wife Judie of Sebastian, Fla.; daughters, Kim Sabien and husband (Bunny’s favorite son-in-law) Chris, Gina Bowman and Billie Jo Zelinski; sisters, Jamie Bowman and husband Ernie, and Andrea Jacobs and husband Jake; brother, Mike Knight and wife Corrine; grandchildren, Alan, Janessa, Christopher, Amie, Jamie and Alex; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Roxie; mother-in-law, Barbara Bowman of Waldoboro; sister-in-law, Connie Rickman and husband Mike of Illinois; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Private services will be held at the convenience of her family.
