Margaret L. (Vinal) Grover, 62, of Freeport, passed away on Feb. 4 from cardiac arrest due to complications from liver disease.
Margaret was born in Damariscotta on July 7, 1955, the daughter of Lester and Willa (Peck) Vinal.
As a child Margaret lived in Nobleboro with Willa, Lester and her seven siblings. Margaret attended Lincoln Academy and went onto The University of Maine – Orono, where she met her future husband Mark. After college, Margaret and Mark moved to Freeport and began their life together, raising their two daughters, Sara and Laura. Margaret worked in the Freeport public schools as an Ed Tech and a substitute teacher. She held various positions in the retail stores in Freeport until she retired.
Margaret was an avid gardener of flowers, loved the beach and hiked many of the 4,000-foot peaks in The White Mountains. She also enjoyed traveling the U.S. with her husband Mark. One of her favorite places she visited was Joshua Tree National Park.
Margaret was predeceased by father, Lester; and sister, “Kit.”
Margaret is survived by loving husband of 42 years, Mark Grover; daughters, Sara Grover and husband Ty Farley, and Laura and husband Charles Baldassano; mother, Willa Vinal; siblings, Jeanne Gram, Larry Vinal, “Cally” Bartholomae, Johnny Vinal, Chris Vinal, and Heather Vinal; faithful dog, Cuddy; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 8 at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Fri., Feb. 9 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 132 Main St., Freeport.
