Margaret “Peggy” Frantz, 83, formerly of Hamburg, N.Y., passed away peacefully on May 7 at the LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta. Peggy was born on Oct. 9, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to Therese and Perry Sherman. The family later moved to western New York, where she met and married her husband Robert D. Page. The couple had three children.
Peggy inherited an artistic ability from her mother, and she always brought that creativity to her jobs as a preschool teacher and later as a Macy’s associate. She was active in her community, hosting foreign students, and helping with the Eden, N.Y. Alumni Association.
Her passions were art, traveling, and family. After retirement, she moved to Maine, where two of her children and grandchildren live.
Margaret was predeceased by parents, Perry and Therese Sherman; and husband, Robert D. Page.
She is survived by sisters, Judith Sherman, and Debara Sargent; children, Robert Page, Michael Page, and Wendy Sparrell; granddaughter, Hannah Sparrell Meneses and husband Juan Meneses; great-granddaughter, Page Olson; and best friend, Joan Abbott.
The family will observe a private memorial according to her wishes.
